Probably only Joseph Smith faced greater opposition while leading the Church than did John Taylor. Whether as a missionary single-handedly facing a mob, or in leading the Church when many of its leaders were in the penitentiary, and when the First Presidency for some time was being hunted like criminals, he stood as a rock against the storm. For two and one-half years conferences were not held in Salt Lake City, and President Taylor, unable to attend, fearing arrest, forwarded epistles. A wonderful study companion to the new Priestood/Relief Society course of study for 2003. Outside the Standard Works there is no assemblage of words that better express the mind and will of the Lord than those spoken by the prophet of God in General Conference. Never before have the words of a modern prophet been separated and indexed as in these volumes. With the unique indexing system used in these books, Latter-day Saints
now can find in seconds what these Prophets said on many subjects not addressed
in the D&C. No LDS home should be without this invaluable resource.
